Welcome to our website, the home of Hanferkat Birmans. My name is Sue Nelson and I live with my partner Mal and three children in north Nottinghamshire. Our prefix is registered with the GCCF and is an amalgamation of the girls names, Hannah, Jennifer and Katy.
The combination of a soft cream, low maintenance, semi long haired coat, white feet and amazing blue eyes coupled with a laid back, loving and loyal temperament makes Birmans not only beautiful but ideally suited to an indoor life with both children and dogs. They are a pleasure to own and ours are no exception. We have Sophie (Lanega Heatherglow 1cc) a lilac point, her daughter Juliet (Adsetlo Viola Morning Mist) also a lilac point and Juliet's two daughters, Dizzy (Adatelo Hanferkat Supastar) and Daisy (Adatelo Eathakitt) both seal points.
Our cats are family pets and share our hectic house with two cavalier king Charles spaniels, Tasha and Blue, a pug, Florence and a poodle, Oodles as well as two other cats, Lana, a Russian blue and Holly, a tabby and white cross breed who puts everyone else firmly in their place.
Holly is the only cat who roams free, being very streetwise and cautious but having had a beautiful Birman killed on the road years ago, all our other cats live indoors but have access to outside in our lovely cat chalets where they can play in the fresh air and watch the world go by in absolute safety.
We usually have a couple of litters of kittens a year, details can be found on our News page. We have been lucky enough to find some stunning stud cats for our ladies and all our kittens have been beautiful. Photographs can be seen in The Gallery.
If you would like to be owned by one of our gorgeous babies please e-mail to sue.nelson2 [at] ntlworld.com in the first instance and tell us a little about yourself and the home that you can offer.
All our kittens are registered with the GCCF (The Governing Council of the Cat Fancy)
and leave home at 13 weeks with their pedigree, a useful kitten pack containing care information, food, toys, cat litter sample, bowl and 4 weeks free insurance with Petplan. They will have had all their injections and will be wormed to date and will be used to household noises, children and dogs.
Unless you live literally in the middle of nowhere only indoor homes will be considered. Our kittens are very precious to us and have had weeks of love and attention poured into them so we are determined to ensure as far as possible that they do not end up killed on the road. They are so laid back and trusting and do not seem to recognise danger and could easily be a target for thieves too. It is not worth the risk in our opinion.
If you have any questions, please ask and we will endeavour to answer them as soon as possible.
